Comments from students;
"NHD has taught me many skills, like how to answer questions in a concise yet forceful way, how to interview people, how to send good emails and how to explore and express my passion."

An observation made by a former CCS looking back at their NHD experience at CCS after a class discussion on "What elements create the environment which promote an excellent education?"
"The self-determination involved in a student choosing their own topic, the independence that comes with researching the topic, and the ambition fostered by a potentially-great project are all things that make for an excellent education. The cooperation used to create group projects, the pride that students feel when they can regard themselves as self-made experts on their favorite topics, and the intrinsic reward of a job well done are essential morale-boosters that might empower a student to excel. And, interestingly, the combination of these benefits results in a classroom environment that is very similar to the one that my class proposed as "ideal." It is a classroom that serves as the root-bed from which students grow, not the testing center for which they suffer."
